A coalition of Manual Arts students, parents, teachers, and community partners organized an community forum that took place on the evening of Thursday, February 21, 2008 in the student auditorium. The over 80 Manual Arts community members in attendance were informed about the local autonomy movement at Manual Arts. Students, parents, and teachers spoke about their struggles and the need to bring about long lasting positive change at their school. Participants were also informed about LAUSD's Innovation Division and the opportunities it provides community members to improve schools in their neighborhood.
